Islamabad and Rawalpindi Tours

The contrast couldn’t be greater between the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Islamabad is Pakistan’s modern, neatly planned capital built in 1960s and laid out according to a grid pattern, with sectors for government, commercial, residential, industrial and recreational zones. Rawalpindi meanwhile is a sprawling, congested, chaotic and typically South Asian city, with its old bazaars, cantonment and Saddar areas. Both are growing rapidly and the master plan envisages that the two cities will one day form a single urban mass, with encircling the central core of Rawalpindi. Most people pass through these cities at some stage without paying them much attention beyond sorting out whatever business they have here or organizing their onward journey, but if you do have the time, they are worth exploring in a little more detail. Especially, Faisal Mosque is the landmark of the city and is must see while there.
